Going Green: Movie Makers Introduce Stainless Steel Water Bottles to Our Offices

At Movie Makers, we're always looking for ways to improve our sustainability efforts and reduce our environmental footprint. As part of our ongoing commitment to being more eco-friendly, we are excited to announce a change in our office: we’re swapping out the use of plastic water bottles to reusable Movie Makers stainless steel water bottles!

Why Make the Switch?

Plastic waste is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. According to recent statistics, over 8 million metric tons of plastic enter our oceans every year. Traditional single-use plastic bottles contribute significantly to this pollution. These bottles are often used once and discarded, taking hundreds of years to break down in landfills, where they can leach harmful chemicals into the soil and water.

Our 10,000 new workers are settling in well. At Movie Makers we are thrilled to have our own bee hive, our Honey Makers are a marvellous edition to our business.

Most importantly without bees we would not survive so we hope can contribute to their survival and educate people to do the same, as we need bees now more than ever. While we often take bees and other pollinators like butterflies and hoverflies for granted, the reality is that they play a vital role in maintaining stable and healthy food supplies. Furthermore, bees are essential for ensuring the varied, colourful, and nutritious diets we need and have come to expect. Bees are perfectly adapted to the task of pollination, facilitating plant growth, breeding, and food production by transferring pollen between flowering plants. The majority of plants that we rely on for food, such as almonds, vanilla, apples, and squash, require pollination, especially by bees. In fact, bees contribute to pollinating approximately 80% of wildflowers in Europe, enhancing the beauty and diversity of our countryside. However, bees are facing numerous challenges that are jeopardising their populations. With growing public and political concerns about global bee decline, it is crucial to address the various factors contributing to this decline, including loss of habitat and food sources, pesticide exposure, and the impacts of climate change. It is more important than ever to recognise the significance of bees in nature and in our lives and to take decisive action to ensure their survival and flourishing for generations to come.

From crafting amazing trailers to meeting new and future sustainability standards, our staff at Movie Makers are experts in their field. As soon as our honey is ready to harvest we will be visiting as many productions as possible to offer a taste test, alternatively visit our yard any time to see our vehicles, meet our bees and catch up on what we are doing as a business within the realm of sustainability.

At Movie Makers we are the pioneers of assisted access vehicles, eco power pods to honey bees in our industry.

Tommy Traylen was the first person to successfully engineer an assisted access star trailer, he has now moved on to trailers that no only cater for the physically impaired but now also people that are visually and/or hearing impaired. We are always on the hunt to discover more ways we can help the impaired please get in touch with any new ideas or recommendations you might have on improving our fleet. Our current list of Assisted Trailers include the following;

Secondly we are on the forefront of traditional power alternatives, our Eco Power Pod offers a great hybrid solution to your power needs.

Working along side amazing engineers from the energy sector we are quickly learning how to make our unit bases as fuel efficient as they can be. The important word to pick up on is 'learning', each production we work with is of different size and needs so it really is a learning process along side your amazing teams to figure out what works best for everyone and most importantly the planet.

We are putting a lot of time and money into R&D for a solar solution but we are still a little way off yet so please bare with us. Solar power is at the top of our priority list when it comes to sustainable power solutions.

Make-ups, production offices, wardrobes, gyms… What next?

Luxury 12 Position Make-Ups
Our 12 Position Make Up has 2 full length slide outs that mirror one another giving a light and spacious environment. It has kitchen facilities, 2 back wash sinks and a washing machine.

Both ends of the trailer feature their own large partially frosted entrance/exit allowing for natural light with an element of privacy.

Each make-up station features its own Hollywood Mirror that allows the user to set it to the brightness they require.

Luxury Production Offices

Movie Makers Luxury Production Office can be set to anywhere between 13-17 positions depending on your productions requirement.

Our offices also feature a private office/meeting room as well as an amazing modern but tasteful kitchen area.

Thirdly we have the ability to facilitate a floor standing printer within the main area of our office, please do talk to us and we can advise on what models will fit the space.

Luxury Wardrobes, Gyms & Much More....
We are currently in the process of kitting out or remaining Expandable shells with the facilities for a luxury wardrobe, state of the art gyms with not only aesthetics in mind but the benefits to the end user as well as versatility to change equipment easily when necessary.

Finally we have many more amazing ideas in the pipe line for our fleet of ever-growing Expandables but for the time being we will be keeping them close to our chest.... Stay Tuned!
