About the role
We are looking for an Operations Assistant for our Operations & Transport department. As the Operations Assistant you will be responsible for overseeing a number of responsibilities listed below.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and allocate HGV drivers based on weekly and monthly film production schedules.
- Liaise with Production Heads of Department (HODs), internal teams, and agencies to confirm transport requirements.
- Carry out all necessary driver checks, including verification of licences, CPC cards, and digital tachograph cards.
- Monitor and manage driver hours in line with EU/UK regulations and the Working Time Directive.
- Coordinate vehicle dispatch from the depot, ensuring all jobs are correctly logged and documented.
- Act as the first point of contact for driver compliance and basic vehicle safety concerns.
- Maintain up-to-date compliance records and reporting logs for both internal use and regulatory audits.
- Identify and address any potential non-compliance issues, escalating them to the Transport Manager as needed.
- Support incident response processes, including initial reporting and follow-up actions
Required Skills & Experience
- Good understanding of HGV operations, including driver hours legislation, road safety, and compliance standards.
- Experience in transport planning.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and coordination ability.
- Working knowledge of tachograph systems and DVSA standards.
- Proficient in using IT systems, including email, spreadsheets (Excel), transport software
