Our 10,000 new workers are settling in well. At Movie Makers we are thrilled to have our own bee hive, our Honey Makers are a marvellous edition to our business.
Most importantly without bees we would not survive so we hope can contribute to their survival and educate people to do the same, as we need bees now more than ever. While we often take bees and other pollinators like butterflies and hoverflies for granted, the reality is that they play a vital role in maintaining stable and healthy food supplies. Furthermore, bees are essential for ensuring the varied, colourful, and nutritious diets we need and have come to expect. Bees are perfectly adapted to the task of pollination, facilitating plant growth, breeding, and food production by transferring pollen between flowering plants. The majority of plants that we rely on for food, such as almonds, vanilla, apples, and squash, require pollination, especially by bees. In fact, bees contribute to pollinating approximately 80% of wildflowers in Europe, enhancing the beauty and diversity of our countryside. However, bees are facing numerous challenges that are jeopardising their populations. With growing public and political concerns about global bee decline, it is crucial to address the various factors contributing to this decline, including loss of habitat and food sources, pesticide exposure, and the impacts of climate change. It is more important than ever to recognise the significance of bees in nature and in our lives and to take decisive action to ensure their survival and flourishing for generations to come.
